Arriving just in time to see the second supporting act of the night- Timbre Timbre. The 30 minute set, accompanied by a guitar, consisted of all original songs performed acoustically. It was nothing too exciting but created a nice atmosphere before Laura Marling took to the stage.
The indie folk artist arrived on stage ,along with her band, to perform a selection of hits from her 3 released albums. Songs including “You Know”, “Ghosts” and “Everlasting Love” were all certain crowd pleasers on the night . And her great thought provoking lyrics accompanied by her flawless vocals easily highlighted exactly why Marling has reached global success.
Despite really enjoying the gig, more so when it was simply Laura accompanied by her guitar, the sound quality and 0verall atmosphere of the gig could have been greatly improved by a small, more intimate gig venue.
I would really love to hear her perform live in the future, but with much a smaller crowd number.
