Opening last nights gig was Graham Kerr a.k.a AlcatrazKids. The singer/songwriter from Paisley performed a 30 minute set with original songs including “The Voice Inside” and “The Wheels Are Turning”. Playing acoustically with a guitar, many of his songs seemed to be quite popular, with the catchy lyrics allowing some of the audience to clap along throughout most of his set. The second last song, “Agent 45”, along with his great stage presence, created an upbeat atmosphere which successfully set the crowd up for the rest of the nights performances. I would really like to hear more of his music in the future.

Next up were The Nice. A three piece glasgow band, consisting of two guitarist and a drummer. Playing a series of their original songs, the band seemed to really enjoy playing live music. A bit more interaction with the audience and an introduction to their songs would have been good however they performed well throughout their 30 minute set, and with a bit more confidence, they will be sure to improve.

The final supporting act of the night was Daniel Docherty. Having last reviewed his gig in November (you can read the review here) ,I was eager to see how successful he would be performing to an over 18s crowd. Equipped with a guitar and an army of fans, the young singer/songwriter performed a 30 minute set consisting of mainly original songs.  “Ghosts” and ” Society Is Your Problem Now”, clearly showed off his great songwriting skills along with his ability to capture the audience with his stage presence. “Busking” was evidently one of the more popular songs of the night, after a short anecdote about the song, explained that each verse was a true scenario that he faced during his time busking around the UK which provided the crowds with a great singalong and a lot of laughs. And after successfully getting the crowd hyped, despite a few minor technical problems, Daniel ended the night with “A Fighting Mind” before leaving the stage to a huge applause.
His own headlining gig is long overdue however, with an EP promised to be released within the upcoming months, we can only expect greater things to come from him.

And finally, Dirty Sally took to the stage to open their headlining set with original song “O.M.G”. The three piece unsigned glasgow band performed a series of songs including “Lightening” and their popular hit ” Is Everything Gonna Be Alright” to a packed, very enthusiastic crowd.  Having seen this band perform twice previously, I feel that during last nights performance, it was evident that the band had really grew in confidence and seemed to enjoy performing to a larger crowd. I really hope to see more from them in the future. I’d Advise everyone to go check them out!
