The Modests ★★★

The Classic Grand, Glasgow
_____________

Despite having their Barrowlands gig cancelled at the last minute, The Modests still managed to secure a 30 minute set as part of the Charity Sadowski Fest.
The four piece Glasgow band performed a series of original songs including 07505, which was explain to be titled after the lead singer, Jacksons phone number. P.S The World was also evidently the most popular song of the night, and despite poor sound quality during parts of the set, the band still managed to encourage the crowd throughout their performance. The Elvis cover of ‘Heartbreak Hotel” created a great atmosphere throughout the room and further original songs including “Call The Cops” and “In The Wings” were performed before the band thanked the crowd and left the stage.

A great improvement could be seen from their previous performance at George Square , which can be read here. And with a recent interview in The Evening Times and having secured a whole list of upcoming gigs, this band have clear high hopes and ambitions.
Go check them out!

The Modests ★★★

George Square, Glasgow
WinterFest
02/01/2012

There has recently been a lot of hype surrounding this band and their free gig in George Square earlier this week soon made it clear as to why.
This four piece glaswegian band performed a 30 minute set consisting of many original songs.  Songs such as “P.s The World” and ” I need your help” were certain crowd pleasers and a great cover of the Elvis Presley hit, “Heartbreak Hotel” was performed towards the end of the set.
Better sound quality would have improved the gig, as it was difficult to hear the lead singer at certain times during the performance.
But it was an overall good wee gig.

Looking forward to hearing more of them in the future.
